This cooler is as advertised! Love the size but not too big to carry comfortably. Has held ice for extended periods and has lots of nice perks like drain, cup holder, basket, cutting boar/divider and is lockable if needed.

I've only used the 25qt twice, but so far so good. I like the dry tray & cutting board. I originally purchased a soft sided high end cooler and was not pleased. Upgraded to the hard sided 25qt. I did pre chill it, and it kept ice for 3 days. The rubber gasket inside the drain plug came out first use. I'd keep an eye on this if you use it to make sure it doesn't fall it. If it does, water will leak. Luckily when mine did, it was outside and not in car. I would also recommend to store it with that cap off. It's so airtight, ANY moisture left in it during storage will be noticeable when time to use. Overall, I like it better than the yeti comparable.

I have a brother and many friends who have a YETI and this cooler has equal ice retaining ability and far more features. The build is superb. The release latches are better than anything I have seen on any other brand. The vacuum release makes is a lot easier to open. The only con is the weight, but you can't achieve this quality without the cooler being heavy. I'm buying a collapsible dolley to transport it.

I have given this cooler several positive reviews but in using it, it NEVER fails to leak. I wonder if anyone else has had this issue? I have contacted the manufacturer directly and am waiting for an answer.Follow-up: Emailed my issues to the company. They jumped on it, got me a new cooler and a label to ship the leaking one back to them. A+

I like the features of this cooler a lot and that and it's footprint is why I bought it but it only holds ice for about a day even if the drinks/food you put in there are chilled/frozen. I definitely expect more from a cooler costing this much as I could have got a Yeti or Rtic of similar size for cheaper or I could have got any of many other cheap knockoffs off of amazon for way cheap at this level of performance or better. Heck I could probably get this type of performance from the cheapest cooler at walmart maybe even the disposable styrofoam ones.

Keeps drinks and food as cool as a Yetti, but came with features yeti makes you pay extra for. Bottle opener, cutting board, plug. It was a lil bigger than I was expecting, but has worked out great. I think it was a bargain after comparing all similar sized quality ice chests. Oh and the pressure valve, thought that wasn't really needed. Turns out when you have a quality ice chest that actually keeps things cool, unlike my old igloo, that this is a much needed feature!!!Best thing about this for me,...its made in the USA!!!!!! Buy American!!!

Great product but drain plug leaks after only owning a few short months. Unable to find anything on warranty information or how to contact seller. Disappointing. Update 9/8/18. Manufacturer contacted me after negative review and resolved my issue. As previously stated product is great! Changing rating to 5 star.

I use this product to keep food and drinks cold. The ice chest sets in the back of truck (107 F yesterday) for 7 hours. Not in direct sunlight because the truck has a tonneau cover. About half the ice melted. I have decided that all of this hype about keeping ice for multiple days, is important, but nothing is going to work for very long in Texas summers. Good product and I recommend it.

Got the 25 gallon one and filled it with ice the night before the trip started. We then took her camping for three days, during which she was exposed to direct sunlight, opened quite frequently and left in a hot metal bear box. This thing still had ice when I finally got home after 4 days. I could not believe it. This thing is solid and weighs a bit more than your good ole Coleman. But cause I camp quite a bit, I consider her quite the upgrade. This thing rocks!

Excellent product holds ice in hot truck for days, the pressure release button proves how well the seal works. This is not a lightweight cheap knock off of anything. Nice job!

The 25qt Thermik cooler is excellent in keeping food and drinks cool in extreme heat from the recent summer heat wave. We are using two large gel freezer pack and the cooler stayed very cold for over three days with the cooler in a hot car. Very pleased with the cooler efficiency and quality construction. One thing to mention is that size of the cooler, with its thick walls and extra height, the cooler is surprisingly larger than expected for a 25qt cooler.

This cooler is hands down AMAZING! If I'd known that it was better than the yeti I would have never paid what I did, instead I'd own 2 or 3 of these!!! You wont regret this purchase!

The cooler arrived today and looks well made. Tested the seals and drain plug and no leaks. Filled it up with Ice and placed it into my garage the following morning. I did not pre-chill the cooler as most manufacturers recommend for best ice retention. Let's be serious, who really does this so I wanted my test to be more realistic for what I would do, just fill with ice and go. After 36 hours in the Texas heat, it has been in the upper 90's in my garage with almost no ice melt so far. I will keep checking it over the next few days and will try to update this post. Again only opening the top one or two times per day. Love the fact that the cooler comes with the divider/cutting board and wire basket and cup holder. The ruler on top of the cooler is also super nice for those fishermen. Nice built-in bottle openers. Not sure so about the freezer seal, I have not been able to get the vacuum seal as suggested by the manufacturer. I am not deduction for this. I really wanted a cooler built in America but was having a hard time justifying the extra 150-250 dollars(with accessories). So at least it is an American company. So far very satisfied with the product but has only been a few days. Definitely, recommend this as a competitor to the much higher priced coolers in the same size.

Really liking all five that we ordered. 105 degrees all day long for three days and only had to add a bag of ice twice. So much more room for stuff and so much less water to deal with. On the way home we tossed the ice and water and everything stayed cold four hours later.

***Update***. Having this cooler less than a year and it’s leaking everywhere!! Very disappointed that it’s supposed to be well built, it’s costly and doesn’t even last a year! I loved this cooler and hate that now I’m having to shop for another one.****Three days of using at a softball tournament in 90 degree temperatures and loved it! Was able to only use one bag of ice and even afterward opening mulotimes throughout the day it had ice left over and everything was still cold! Headed to the beach in a week and can’t wait to see how it holds up there!

If I could, is give it ten stars. I live in Miami, FL. In Friday night, I was getting the house ready for the next day. I figured I'd put two bags if ice in. It should hold till the next day. I had two 2 liters of soda for the kids. Several bottles of water and 16 bottles of beer. The next day and throughout the day, in full South Florida sun, the ice maintained. I couldn't clean the boat that night so I cleaned it on Sunday. Opened the cooler, and there was still plenty of ice. Very pleased.

Overall, pretty happy with my purchase. We tested it our during some brutal summer heat, 93+, and didn't take the time to precool. Our large bag of ice lasted 4 days and the water kept our watermelon cool another day! The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the cooler is a little heavy. Would not hesitate to recommend. Would put it against my brother's RTIC any day!

Bottle openers on the corners are the simplest, most obvious addition to a cooler, why is this not on all coolers?! Very sturdy, great handles, cutting board divider comes in handy. All around great purchase.

1st time we used it, I realized the drain plug had been broken during shipping. Since this is a HUGE cooler and I didn't want the hassle of boxing it up and sending it back I chose to replace the part. In the mean time, thinking that the plug was still sealed okay, we used it on a trip to get groceries home (100 miles). It was awful!! The frozen foods were melted....the ice had melted....we were very disappointed. Then I discovered that the plug did not seal and decided that maybe that is why the cooler didn't work. This would also explain why it never created a vacuum lock. So, the plug part is supposed to get here today and we will do a test on it tomorrow to see if it creates the vacuum lock and keeps things really cold. If not, it is going back. I will update this after the test.UPDATE: 6/30/18.. We tested the cooler with the new part on it. The first day, it did create the vacuum lock like it was supposed to. We shut it again and checked the next day...when we opened it, there was no vacuum lock again and the ice had totally melted. The window for returning it is gone so now we have a $300.00 cooler that might or might not work??UPDATE: 7/13/18....I found the website for Thermik and told them of my problem. They sent me a replacement (genuine Thermik part) for the broken piece. The founder of the company contacted me and assured me that I would not be stuck with a cooler that I was not happy with. They also answered all of my questions about how to pack the cooler for its best performance. According to the manufacturer, to keep frozen foods from melting, it is best to layer things, ie: put chunked ice on the bottom, then put in the frozen foods that are in plastic containers (so it doesn't matter if they get wet), then put in the frozen foods that are in cardboard as the next layer, then put a layer of cooler packs (or something similar that won't get everything wet) on top of the frozen food and for the last layer, put in the food that just needs to be kept chilled, not frozen. I have to travel 100 miles from the grocery store to home so I am anxious to try this out, as my frozen items are always melting by the time I get home. So after the next grocery shopping excursion I will update this again, but for now I am giving it 4 stars because of the company's excellent customer service.

I had a hard time deciding between a soft and hard cooler. Ended up with the Thermik 25 because it was the perfect size. I find the extra depth and capacity are perfect for my needs for a smaller cooler but not too small. Construction quality seems excellent. I was looking at every inch for manufacturing defects and could not find any. The rubber on the release valve had popped out but I put it back in so no fault there. The handle, latches, drain, feet, bottle opener are all great quality. I appreciate thoughtful touches like the foam handle, measuring chart on lid, and tether for the drain plug. Even the Thermik label on the front is high quality.after stuffing this with 20lb of ice and some frozen breast milk bags and drinks, I can say it does the job for at least 3 days. for the capacity, that's really all I need.

The thermik 45 cooler is a pretty awesome cooler. I really have no major complaints about this cooler. Several things that really stand out to me. First and probably most important to me is the latches. The way they flip and latch is so much better than some of the competition. The other being the vacuum release button. I do also like the handles on it. They just feel rugged and look cool. The one thing i was a little disappointed in is the ice retention. 10lbs of ice will last about 2 days and there ice retention on advertisement is up to 5 days. I will say though, it does continue to keep the drinks at a chilled temp for about 2 more days.Overall. Not a bad buy.

After a 4 day expedition to the Adirondack wilderness in Upstate NY; I can say with confidence that this is a quality product. My friend and I (foolishly) filled one of these 75qt coolers up and then proceeded to hoof it down extreme (wet) trails to our camp. After the first few miles, we were whooped... we both work office jobs and we had to figure out a better way. My buddy suggested that we use our walking sticks as leverage, pass them through the handles and carry this thing on our shoulders. I expected the handles to break before I did, but it didn't happen. It didn't even budge-- the product is great, the cutting board included is great, and I think this will serve me well for many years!Photo shows cooler and boat in camp. Thanks for not letting us down.

The cooler is everything that it was advertised to be. I have only used it once so far as I just got it. After a day and a half I only poured about a glassful of water. It was so cold in the cooler at our destination that some liguids had ice forming. I had only used perhaps two pounds of ice to begin with. I love that it has a drain even thoI might use it less than expected. The only drawback is it's weight. It is surprising due to its quality. however. Very satisfied.

Fits between the seats of our motorhome. Will be our “mini-frig” on our travels. Also purchased special ice packs to use and expect 24 hours or more of cold for lunches and snacks. Very sturdy.

I liked the locking tabs the best. I Was a little surprised at How heavy it was. Overall it’s a great product and it kept all my meat frozen for 10 days with just 5 pounds of dry ice I’d buy it again

I'm very impressed with this cooler so far. Granted I've only had it one day. I immediately noticed the fit and finish are on par if not a bit better than my Rtic 65. As soon as I got home I unpacked it and tossed some ice in it to pre chill for the next day. I'm a truck driver and sometimes leave home for 3 days at a time. I love the fact that the basket will allow me to pre plan my meals now and keep my food dry. This seems like a great bang for your buck if the uce retention is even just decent. I wish it came with one more drink holder but at this price point and the quality I have no complaints.

I've purchased their thermos and enjoyed the superior quality. Now.. After a recent trip where it pack this and a yeti I am very pleased. Kept ice just as well (if not better - Ice pack are hard to judge), has superior features and It's priced better by size. I will be expanding my Thermik collection.

This is a substantial cooler - excellent build. Nice features and superior cooling ability. You would be hard pressed to justify paying a significant premium for other bands in this tier of coolers. I would definitely recommend.Update: I have used this cooler numerous times and the ice doesn’t melt, for days on end. Amazing! And BTW, Yeti has denounced the NRA so save a $100 and buy this cooler.

The item arrived as the product info describes. All the parts for the cooler were intact and undamaged. I haven't got a chance to test the insulating abilities since I just received the cooler but it looks well built with failsafes in mind so I ended up purchasing this cooler for that reason.

Nice high quality with really nice “extra’s” like bottle opener, divider/cutting board, high quality sealing, high quality handles, vacuum release, plus priced “fair” compared to Yeti plus has the extras.

just tested my new thermik for trip back home. After 4 days, still ice and everything in frozen shape. Fits my needs perfectly. Now for an ultimate test of hiking for 2 months.

We used this in conjunction with a small freezer to repeatedly freeze blue ice packs. It held temperature very well, and I was delighted by the cutting board, divider and basket. I have nothing to complain about--handles were easy, latches straight forward. I think it is a best value item--at least a hundred dollars cheaper than nearest competition. Somebody was thinking--and it shows.

Outstanding product, happy with my purchase. Owning a Engle cooler I'm aware of quality coolers that you can depend on to keep items frozen and cool for extended periods of time. As soon as I received my therm1k 25 qt. Cooler I purchased a 5# bag of ice, placed it in the cooler and closed the lid. Placed it in an out of the way area in my kitchen and left it for 8 days. Now my house stays about 70 ° so this review won't give an accurate account if you're using this cooler in "hot" place but after 8 days of sealed test there was a little over a quarter of the 5# bag of ice left, the rest had turned to water. Pretty good results in my humble opinion. At the very least on par with my Engle. I like the handle and my favorite feature is the relief valve so you don't have to fight to get the lid open. Plenty of room for 6 bottles of water, a couple of steaks and fruits/veggies for a two day trip etc. I'm a thru-freight conductor and am gone from home for a couple days at a time. Plenty of room for food and snacks. Also note this cooler comes with a wire basket and divider/cutting board.

My husband love everything about this cooler. The cooler has plenty of room a cutting board used to divide the space and a basket to keep your food from getting soggy. Keeps ice for 4-5 days and does not leak around drain.

Great cooler! Heavy which was to be expected. Filled it with ice and drinks for a trip up to Virginia and not one ice cube was melted when we got there almost 8 hours later. We love it!

Love this cooler! I need to transport raw food for my dogs when I take them out of town and this cooler is extremely trustworthy. Very well designed and things stay FROZEN for a long time. If I end up in a hotel without a fridge, I feel I can keep their food fresh.

Everything I expected and more. Fantastic Cooler and I hate to say it but my buddies with the RTIC and Yeti's are invious of the nice features, quality of the design and overall high end appearance. They have great cool boxes but the Thermik offers more..

I purchased both the 20 qt and 45 qt models and they are similar in many respects. Here is what I've found so far. Both have a high level of fit and finish. Both hold the stated capacity unlike a name brand that claims that it is a model number. The insulation was consistent across the body of the coolers, I used a 1300 lumen light to detect if any voids or variations were present, I was unable to perceive any light through the lid. The full length hinge allows the top to be opened to 90 degrees but does not have any means that would prevent over extension past the 90 degree stop. the front corners of the main body have stainless steel attached for securing the lid with a locking device, make sure that the shackle is 1.5 inches above the closed lock body for sufficient clearance, a extended shackle lock isn't needed. The security corners also double as bottle openers which is convenient. The drain plug is completely removable and has a substantial rubber washer and screws into threads that are molded in the side and the drain cap is attached by means of a chain that is screwed into the side near the top. Everything looks to be easily maintained/replaced if need be but looking on the web site no mention of any parts availability or pricing is listed, yet. One thing I would have liked to see is to have handle options offered at order time. I don't prefer a metal handle and would like the option of rope handles like the 45 qt sports. Both coolers have channels built into the lids that make for more secure tie downs and metric and US standard rulers are built into the lids. Both coolers have large rubber feet on the bottoms that keep them from sliding about. Each cooler comes with a heavy duty dry tray, cup holder and cutting board which are nice accessories to have on hand.I am currently in the middle of testing the performance of the coolers, I did not pre-chill the coolers and added one bag of ice to each of the units. The ambient temperatures have been from the high 50's at night to mid 70's during the day. The coolers have been garaged and checked twice daily to check ice retention. As of this writing I am in day 3 of the trial and will update the results when completed.I took away one star on this review due to the fact that there was no paperwork included with the coolers and the web site didn't contain any information regarding care and feeding, parts availability, pricing or guarantee. As this is the end of BBQ season for me, I'd like to have had a whole season to put these units to the test so it looks as though another update will be in the works.Finished up my performance testing and the cooler came through pretty well with ice retention of 3.5+ days. Pretty good results considering that no precooling was done and only one bag of ice was used. I went for a real world usage scenario rather than a world record. I don't know about anybody else but I don't want to stick my hand in the cooler and pull out a drink that has been sitting in the same water with untold other hands, who knows where they've been, without some sort of sanitization long before seven to ten days have elapsed. Cooler drained well and the male threads on the drain match the female threads of a standard garden hose. These coolers are robust with the 45 qt model weighing in at a bit under 30 lbs dry so I would put them in place where you want them and then load them up rather than tote them any distance. Final verdict is that I would recommend this cooler to a friend without hesitation.
