Counting a star off solely because I don't feel it's a good natural light image. It's a little yellow. But, I find Lunt makes an excellent product and these feel pretty solid. I've got two of them and they do a decent job for casual or quick viewing, and I do tend to use them alongside my Celestron Eclipse viewers, which give an overly white image. So, it's sometimes nice to use both. I get out the big guns for anything serious. So, these are just easy to grab when I want to take a quick peek.

Sunoculars-Yellow with 8x the magnification of Eclipse GlassesI bought this for my husband to watch the Eclipse when we traveled to SC to see it. He was not disappointed at all.

Works perfectly for looking at an eclipse. I can't think of any other use for them.

These worked great for the solar eclipse that I saw total blackout in Paducah, KY. Worth every penny. It is also cool to be able to look at the sun during a normal day.

The hit of all my friends at the total eclipse. The view was spectacular.

This is way past the 'eclipse' time, but the 'Sunoculars' worked wonderfully!

These are a great tool for looking at the sun. We had some heavy cloud cover the day of the eclipse, but these actually made it easier because we could scan the sky and look for the only bright spot through the clouds. They allowed us to see much more of the activity (due to the magnification) than we could have seen with just eclipse glasses alone. Next, we are going to try to use them for sunspot investigations!

Pretty cool seeing black spots on the sun

The price was high, but these were a real hit during the eclipse. Since you can view sunspots with these, they're pretty much year-round fun. But, be careful. Looking at the sun is always dangerous.

They work very well!

I don't know what you can see with these but i could not see the eclipse or anything else out of these binoculars. I gave it to my friend to try and she couldn't see anything either. Its too late to return it so I am stuck with an expensive product that is worthless.

Sunoculars were purchased for another person but they were well packaged and arrived on time. From what I saw of them, they worked well and did what was advertised.

Watched eclipse. Crystal clear.

Loved it. Easy to us. Eyes were protected while watching the eclipse.

Worked great. I was at about 60-65% totality, but they worked well enough to enjoy the solar spectacle.I still use them to gaze at the sun now and then.

These were great for watching the eclipse. It was only 80% where I was viewing it from, and these worked nicely. I'll have to see how they work with solar flares until the next eclipse.

Totally disappointed! They were not safe to use to view the eclipse which they were advertised to do. Useless!

These are awesome. Will use these for years, as I teach about the Sun.

Have used these for eclipses and general solar viewing. They work very well for the purpose! Field of view is excellent; if you are familiar with and know how to use binoculars, these will be easy to navigate with. Be aware, as with all solar binos, you can see literally nothing EXCEPT the sun. Everything else will be totally and completely black. People who have posted that these binos don't work, really don't understand how filtered lenses need to be in order to view the sun safely. If you are unfamiliar with using binoculars, you will need to go out and practice for a while to get the hang of spotting our nearest star. It can help if you stick your arm out all the way and use your fist to generally aim it at the sun. While your arm is still up in the air, align the solar binos in the same way. You'll have a pretty good chance of finding the sun within a few seconds this way if you make small movements with the binos. Be patient and be willing to do the arm thing a few times until you spot the sun.Positives:-Good field of view ups your chances of quickly locating the sun.-Excellent filtering-Sun is bright and white, not orange or yellow. Capable of viewing sun spots easily.-Useable with eyeglasses and sunglasses on... does NOT require you to flip the eye cups up and down between glasses/non glasses users!-Quick adjust dial for focusing (lever style, between the two lens chambers), plus right eye can be further adjusted for complete focusing-Attached lens caps on both oculars and base lenses. Can be easily removed if you want.-Handy neck strap-Compact, padded storage case.-Bright yellow color on casing alerts you to their being solar binoculars v. Birding or other binos.Negatives:-None. These are an excellent tool for viewing the sun.

So by the time I decided to drive a few hours to totality for the Great American Eclipse, I couldn't find solar glasses in stock anywhere. So, as a last resort I ordered these Sunoculars. Boy am I glad I couldn't get the glasses because these are so very cool. I couldn't wait to get them out of the box to have a look at the late afternoon sun. It looked so eerie and cool...almost like the moon. I can't wait til Monday to watch as the eclipse approaches totality. I can tell you NO one would get these away from me during the event. I'm a bit of a geek about toys and such so these are right up my alley...and they are very nicely made. Definitely a quality binocular. I see these as being a pretty cool beach accessory too, along with my regular binoculars.
