I used these for about an hour for the eclipse. Was it that exciting? No. Did the glasses do their job? Yes.

Fantastic glasses! I ordered a couple pair for the eclipse and they performed amazingly. I plan to keep them around for future use unlike the cheap floppy paper ones. The lenses are not glass, but that's alright. They aren't the super cheap film in the paper ones either. Love them.

I used these in the 2017 great american eclipse, and they did the job well. The extra paper glasses were a nice touch and valuable insurance just in case I lost the main glasses for some reason. I was able to view the eclipse perfectly and will be re-buying for the April 8th 2024 eclipse.

Fit well, snug and allows viewing of the sun, eclipse or not.Excellent protection, decent price. Much easier to use than welders glass for eclipse viewing.

Perfect to view eclipse in August. Only annoying thing was the string used to be able to wear around your neck kept slipping off glasses. Other than that they were perfect.

Bought these for the August Solar Eclipse. We went to Nashville to view the full, and these were perfect.

I bought these to use over my prescription eyeglasses for the 2017 total eclipse. They fit comfortably over my regular glasses and worked great. These felt much more secure than the cheap cardboard "glasses" used by most others. Note that you can use these to look at the sun at any time, of course, not just during an eclipse. I took them out recently and observed two or three sunspots on the full disc of the sun. I'll be keeping these for the 2024 total eclipse.

Sturdy, comfortable, and effective. These were perfect for the eclipse, and we look forward to using them over the years to watch the solar cycle ramp up. Maybe the Sun will churn up some giant sunspots!

I went to the NASA web site to review recommended vendors for eclipse glasses. That's why I chose these. I'm very pleased with my purchase. They're quite large for me but I prefer this large size. More protection from the sun.

Eclipse came and went so I guess my eyeballs didn't get burned ;-) I was so glad I had these instead of the flimsy paper ones. The glasses were comfortable to use and keep on for an extended period. They have a neck cord so they don't get lost too!

I just came back from Idaho on the centerline of the 8-21-17 eclipse and these glasses worked perfectly. I had several comments on how styling they looked compared to the usual cardboard mylar eclipse glasses. With my telescopes and these glasses, I was the "professional".I am looking forward to the 2024 CONUS eclipse and these will be there with me. As with all eclipse glasses, take extra care to keep them from getting scratched. I used a neckcord and they were unable to fall onto the ground. Lastly, a nice touch was the added soft fabric bag to keep them in.

The plastic glasses fit well over my prescription glasses so I could safely view the eclipse today. Loved that you included 2 pair of cardboard glasses as well. I was very popular today at work passing glasses around! Hope to be around for the next eclipse

These glasses are acceptable. The frame is not high quality, but will do the job just fine for the short time they will be used. They are flat in front, making them a good candidate for wearing over prescription glasses. The filter lenses are made by a respected American company. The frames are virtually indistinguishable from the much cheaper Chinese made specs available for a fraction of the cost. The filter film in those is different.

No eclipses yet, but I did look at the sun and it was kind of amazing. They do fit over my glasses, and nice to have a lanyard to keep them in the ready position hands free.

Obviously, I do not know how these glasses will function until they are used to view the/an eclipse. However, having purchased multiple types of glasses from multiple vendors I am most favorably impressed by this item from Rainbow Symphony. According to a NASA website re. "Safety Total Solar Eclipse 2017" Rainbow Symphony is among the few listed manufacturers "who have certified that their eclipse glasses and handheld solar viewers meet the ISO 12312-2 international standard for such products." The glasses are in a cloth pouch, with an eyeglass cord; there are also 2 disposable "eclipse shades" (cardboard frames) included. All are packaged in packaging that states:"Plastic Designer Frames ECLIPSE SHADES Safe Solar Eclipse Glasses" "Safely View Solar Eclipses, Planetary Transits, Sunspots & Other Solar Phenomenon"SAFE FOR DIRECT SOLAR VIEWING. There are instructions and the warning: NEVER LOOK AT THE SUN WITHOUT SPECIAL EYE PROTECTION. DO NOT USE IF DAMAGED."Mfg. in U.S.A. by Rainbow SymphonyBottom line: REPUTABLE MANUFACTURER, MADE IN U.S.A., GOOD VALUE = HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We tried the glasses on a sunny day and were pleased with the ability to watch the sun without damage to our eyes. These are much better than the paper glasses as they block out most of the surrounding light. Don't try to walk while wearing these glasses as they block out so much light that you can't see anything around you.

Before making this purchase I forwarded the details to my ophthalmologist, who told me he was impressed with the specifications and he encouraged me to enjoy the eclipse. I'm very satisfied with my purchase; I believe I made the right choice in protective eyewear for the total solar eclipse on August 21, 2017. The Eclipse Shades from Rainbow Symphony are remarkably well made for the price and they fit quite well over my regular eyeglasses, which I will need to wear in order to see the Sun distinctly. And these glasses' lenses are dark! I cannot see through them at all indoors, and I when I tested them outside at 'high noon' with a cloudless sky I had to hunt for the Sun until I found it appearing as a beautiful orange disk. As another reviewer noted, if you're going to view a once-in-a-lifetime celestial event then why not go for the best in protective eyewear? These glasses are a great value. Oh, and Rainbow Symphony inadvertently doubled my order so I wrote to them and asked how I could pay for the additional pair, which I was happy to buy. I received a prompt, courteous reply from a gentleman at Rainbow Symphony, who explained they were happy for me to keep the additional pair with their compliments. I promised to pay the kindness forward by giving the additional glasses to a friend. Such excellent customer service makes me feel even better about my purchase.

Perfect for the Total Solar Eclipse of 2017 on August 21! (Each plastic pair of glasses comes with two paper glasses to give away to new friends--originally, I got just one pair of paper glasses, but I contacted Rainbow Symphony, and they sent me a pack of six paper glasses--so I'll be able to meet lots of people at the eclipse festival that I'm attending!). Thanks, Rainbow Symphony!

Three of us in the family, all with prescription glasses. These fit over each of our glasses comfortably, and my son has already been doing some sun-gazing with his! Looking forward to the eclipse!

Comfortable fit, very dark lenses, perfect for solar viewing. Package also contained 2 cardboard solar viewing glasses. Glad to have the plastic frame as it is much more comfortable and provides good eye protection.

I bought a pair of Eclipser HD by American Paper Optics and a pair of Eclipse Shades by Rainbow Symphony. Compared them briefly (along with the free pair of paper shade that comes with Eclipse Shades) and the following are my initial impressions.1. I wear prescription glasses. Both fit better and block out more stray light from the sides than the typical paper shades. The paper can be even stay in place over my heads. personally I find Eclipse Shades block out slightly more stray light, but that probably depend on the types of glass frames I am wearing.2. construction wise, Eclipser HD's silverish reflective film feels thinner than the black film of Eclipse Shades, which looks and feels a little more durable. Eclipser HD silver film seems to be of similar material to the paper shade.3. Looking at the sun, all three project the sun as an orange/yellow disc and looks clear. Among the three, Eclipse Shades' sun looks the darkest (more orange) but it has the least amount of halo. Eclipser HD's and the paper shade's sun looks a tint brighter (instead of a deep orange, it leans towards a yellowish-orange) but there appears to be more halo around the sun. Eclipser HD more so than the paper shades.I don't have a conclusion which is better since the eclipse has yet to come. Would the slightly brighter sun (but with more halo) rendered by Eclipser HD render my experience more enjoyable than Eclipse Shades slightly darker sun with less halo? I don't know, I guess I will be switching back and forth comes Eclipse day. If I had to choose one pair at this time, I will probably go with Eclipse Shades, for the better fit (for me) and a "cleaner" sun (with the least amount of halo)You can't go wrong with either one of those. I would definitely not recommend the paper shades, which lets in too much stray light and does not stay on my face at all. My recommendation is, whether you wear prescription glasses or not, for a once in a lifetime experience, spending an extra $15 for a plastic framed shade is well worth it.

These work perfectly as advertised. The fit right over my eyeglasses without being too tight or too loose, and I can look directly into the full sun with my eyes wide open.

These are nice glasses. We were pleasantly surprised. They do fit over our prescription glasses and have a larger coverage than cheap paper ones. They have fold up temples, a nice carrying pouch and a lanyard to go over your neck. The main downside is it would to nice to have them even bigger. A lot of glare still leaks around when staring at the sun. But it is much better coverage then the paper ones.

Bought these as well as the wrap around ones so I could see which I liked best. These are the ones. They fold up like normal sunglasses and they fit over my face even when wearing my prescription glasses (feels like wearing 3D glasses at the movies). Comes with a couple of cardboard eclipse glasses too if you have a friend or some kids - good to give away for anyone around who might be interested in viewing the sun or an eclipse. All that being said, these are more adult sized, so the wrap around ones may be good for a child, as long as that child doesn't wear prescription glasses.

These are way cool. I got them so our family can see the eclipse and so they stay on the kids heads better than the cardboard ones. They work great.

These are really great glasses. The lenses are sturdy, and blackout the required sunlight for observation. They fit comfortably over my prescription glasses as well. I'm very excited for the 21st of August. Oh, and it did come with a nice microfiber draw tie bag, cleaning cloth, and two nice cardboard solar observation glasses.

Amazing! You can look right at the sun without issue. The paper versions included, however, are not quite as good. The main "lens" is fine, but so much sun slips through around the eye that it's unreliable for looking at the sun. I would --not-- recommend the paper viewing glasses. These plastic ones... perfect!

I picked these up in last night's mail, so went out just now to try them. We've had rain all night, and the clouds parted, so I dashed out in my jammies wearing these glasses.NOTE: They completely obscure your normal view, so watch your step. ;)The sun was amazing to see, with some clouds passing in front of it. It was an awe-inspiring sight, which I highly recommend. Not sure these are particularly stylish, but they let me see something so beautiful, I cannot adequately describe the experience.Go get some eclipse glasses and look at the sun. You're welcome.

They look good and fit over my glasses well, but I really won't know how well they work until total solar eclipse time on August 21, 2017. But so far so good.

Wasn't sure about these but thought I'd give it a go. Glad I did, very cool, if any sunspots are large enough you can just make them out.
